What kind of campaign did this guy run? Was he emphasizing the family values angle?
heck, I don’t mind when politicians come out and talk about their conservative family values I just don’t want them being hypocrites... like Newt with the impeachment of Clinton.

Not really. He ran as a generally conservative candidate, emphasising tax cuts and confirming Bush's judges, with his own particular issues like allowing drug importation from Canada. He doesn't run with the Tony Perkins crowd, but doesn't shy away from them either.
