Then we watched two different interviews. If he was mocking anyone, it was Blitzer.

Everyone seems to agree that he was doing ~something~ in the way that he pronounced Gupta's name.

To me, it sounded obviously like mimmickry of the Indian way of speaking, somewhat stacatto with equal emphasis on each syllable.

So maybe you are right...he was mocking Blitzer's PC-informed effort to be authentic in the pronunciation rather than Gupta, himself.

Small difference...it was mockery playing on the pronunciation of the name.

It would ignite a firestorm if a conservative had done it.
