You know I was thinking the other day one of the things Islam needed was a Martin Luther, whose teachings would take over a part of the Islamic world like Luther’s teachings took over northern Europe, and force on the rest of them a counter-reformation as it did with the Catholic Church. Every other religion on earth has evolved from sometimes blood-thirsty beginnings, but Islam has not. It has gotten, if anything, more blood-thirsty.

You know if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it must be one. I also recall the axiom that says “What you say and do speaks so loudly, I cannot hear what you are saying”.

What Martin Luther did, is print the bible. He never changed it. What that did is put the teachings of the gospel directly in the hands of the people, instead of it being subject to the interpretations of a priest.

Do you really want a "Martin Luther" for the Koran and Hadiths? Unlike the bible, there ISN"T ANYTHING GOOD to be gained by 3rd world Muslims who can't read to be taught to read it and understand ALL of it's teachings. That will just create more Jihadists.

Muslims in North Africa for example practice a watered down blend of Islam and tribal customs, some honestly think there is no call to kill in the Koran. Their Imams are iliterate, and merely pass down oraly what they were taught orally.

These type of muslims however, are not "good muslims" in the eyes of the Arabs who are currently charging through places like the Sudan and slaughtering these apostates. What is being put in place is "literate" muslims, who understand and follow the Koran. We call them "fundamentalists", Jihadists, Terrorists, because that is exactly what the koran and haith teaches.

You can't compare the gospel to the Koran, nor Martin Luther simply printing the Gospel for all to read, because Luther didn't "change the bible". He changed nothing at all, except for putting the gospel in the peoples hands.(although there were some non- cannonized books added)

Still, that didn't stop different denominations from reading their own agenda into it, as practically every denomination today has.
