Well, my point was not that there is no relationship between interest rates and asset (including house-price)values. I was taking issue with the implication that, somehow, real estate brokers/agents were at fault in this by “increasing the cost of the home.”

I see, I agree that it is simple economics, not a vast conspiracy. When interest rates drop, my buying power goes up along with everyone else.

I do have a nagging feeling that I will end up subsidizing the greed of others who are “too good” to live in a small house and are now tens of thousands in debt and looking for a bailout. I guess these are the same people who cashed out their 401K and will vote to have MY 401K taxed to fund their care in a few decades.
