I just hope he means it. I don’t believe that Hillary or Obama could win next year, but Gore could.

You beat me to it, but I would have (and did a week or so ago) put it stronger. There is no question in my mind he would have won, and big.

This makes it interesting. Obama will not win even the nomination. He is an inexperienced lightweight which will become more and more evident.

Edwards has self-destructed with his $1,400 haircut bill and miscellaneous goofs. The attacks coming at him now remind me a lot of those directed at Dan Quayle - that he is just a pretty face with no substance and a predilection for putting his foot in his mouth. Then there is the "WOT is just a bumper sticker" quip that is coming back to haunt him in light of the recent UK plots, and his strategy of taking the far left position does not seem to be working out very well. All of the above surprises me as I thought he was very shrewd, but I'll take it!

That leaves Hillary, who something like 50% of the population says they will not vote for. Even if that doesn't stick to election day it is a stunningly high figure for the leading dem right now.

Hmmmm. Maybe we have a chance after all.

He doesn't. He's probably seen how well Fred is doing & trying to use a similar approach to his own advantage. I'm expecting a "Draft Al" movement at some point. But his will be self manufactured. He's running.
