Gore: Son's arrest is 'a private family matter'
Updated: July 5, 2007 08:08 AM EDT
NEW YORK (AP) -- Al Gore says he's dealing with his son's arrest in California "as a private family matter."
Al Gore the Third, who is 24, was arrested early yesterday. Sheriff's deputies say he was driving about 100 miles per hour on the San Diego Freeway. They arrested him on suspicion of possessing marijuana and prescription drugs.
The former vice president and Democratic presidential nominee appeared on the "Today" show on NBC this morning. He says he's glad his son is safe and is "getting treatment." He also says he's thankful no one was hurt.
Al Gore the Third completed substance abuse counseling to settle pot possession charges in suburban Washington in 2003.
If Gore were smart, (which he isn’t, of course), he’d be up front and open about his son’s drug/alcohol problems. As for his comments, When does it cease being a ‘private family matter’ — when he kills someone with his Prius?
I was only speculating, but I put nothing past the fetid Clinton political machine. Trust me they are spending a ton of money investigating and watching anyone they suspect stands in the way of the PIAPS ascension to the throne.
Here’s how I think this might have played out. The Clinton’s know Al Gore III is a loose cannon and have had someone watching him for months. The other day was not the first time this loser smoked up and drove around like a mad man. Gore has been planning on running, make no mistake about that. In fact, a caller to a local talk radio show here in Nashville, last week called in and mentioned a friend who landed a job working for one of Gore’s political organization. This person said Gore has been planning to run in 2008 for years and the whole global warming movie/scam was the way Gore plotted to get back into the public’s good graces and get a lot of media attention.
You know the Clinton’s are also aware of what this moron is doing. So knowing that the 4 th usually means partying, someone was watching Gore’s drug addict kid extra close. When he got high and started speeding, someone tipped the cops and the kid gets busted.
Timing is too perfect not for the Clinton’s to be involved.
Just speculating, but it has the stench of Clinton all over it. Where was he earlier in the night, who was he smoking up with etc ??? The cop happened to be in the right place at 2 am ?
LOL!
You'd think Gore would know not to mess with her. My advice to him would be--just bask in the glory of the carbon offset scam and the movie scene and be happy with that.
Afraid not, Mr. I-invented-the-internet MENSA reject.
Raising a son who endangers public safety by driving 100 mph on a freeway while stoned is... well... clearly within existing "legal controlling authority".
Just saying.
Wait a minute!
I thought PRIUSES could only go that fast driving off the roof of a 50-story building...
I certainly wasn’t crying for “mom” to get me out of scrapes. I was mom, kissing the scrapes.
Same here. These young adults need some responsibilities to make them accountable for something other than their own pleasures. I look at them with all they have and think what a waste.
Look at the compassionate side.
Clinton was our first black president, Al can be our first mentally handicapped one...
Just saying.
I fixed that for you.
I bought one in 2003. I coudn't afford one today.
Yeah, I have to say that I get the impression the Gores care more about their kid and getting him on the right path than the Hiltons do, though. I don’t see the Gores making excuses for their son the way the Hiltons do. If Paris is going to do a turnaround, it will be thanks to her stint in jail, not to her abuse-through-enabling parents. At least the Gores have a sense of shame — the Hiltons don’t.
I’d like to kick old Al in his “privates”!
“Blame this one on rock music Tipper”
Now we know the evil effects of forest sounds and nature ambient trance.
Uh, Al...you mean like Dubya’s DUI back in ‘76?
Al Moron the Third is an adult...
Didn't someone in your campaign "leak" information about President Bush's DUI 20 some odd years ago? Can't have it both ways Jack...
The media should ask Al if his son should be disqualified from public office for the rest of his life for his DUIs.
Like thats gonna happen...
