The Year of Perpetual Outrage
RightBias News ^ | July 3, 2007 | Nancy Morgan

Democrats are outraged, outraged, that President Bush has spared Scooter Libby from 2 1/2 years in prison. The President, yesterday, reduced Libby's sentence to probation and a hefty fine, causing apoplexy on the left and generating an outpouring of outrage not seen since terrorists were forced to wear panties on their heads.

Mr. Libby was convicted in March on charges of perjury, making false statements and obstruction of justice. Vice President Cheney's former chief of staff had told the FBI and a grand jury that he had not leaked the ..

I'm just pissed that Jorge didn't completely pardon Libby. The only crime for which Libby is guilty is that he did not say the phrase "I don't recall" repeatedly when asked questions by Nifong Fitzgerald. And a jury trial of a GOP bigwig in DC? There is no possible way Libby could have gotten a fair trial here. I'm surprised the jury did not sentence him to death.

Great post, Nancy!

It was funny reading Obama’s statement that “national security was compromised” by Libby.

Funny how NOBODY was convicted of that.

Outing Plame didn’t meet the legal criteria necessary for conviction.

Hence,national security was NOT compromised.

I thought we were all done with the Valerie Plame Blame Game.....

If my lib co-workers try beyotching about this I’ll give ‘em two words: Frank Rich

"Rich"

Frank Rich is appropriate too as someone who should be in prison for fraud. He's a fraud as a journalist.

At exactly what point in her career was La Plame the equivalent of Agent 99 or the girl from U.N.C.L.E.????? She couldn’t even qualify for Honey West!

"I'm just pissed that Jorge didn't completely pardon Libby."

Two edged sword:
This way the prez recognizes the rule of law (rightly or wrongly expressed) and does not lift the other sanctions/penalties following an exercise that he is himself responsible for - and Libby is not made to undergo the obviously unfair jail time ordained by a biased court.

That said, I don't think GWB will be getting a Christmas card from Scooter anytime soon.

PS: the link to ‘Perpetual Outrage’ was best for its link to Stratfor - I’ve ignored them for awhile and the read was worthwhile.

oh, outraged dims, the headline made me think of outraged mooslims, getting so you cant tell the outraged w/ out a program. “whose day is it to be outraged anyway?, or just miffed?, could they be piqued, affronted, annoyed, bitter, chafed, cross, displeased, hot, huffy or just ill tempered?

may be resentful, sulky, or even provoked?

Wasn’t Libby a lawyer for Mark Rich and Fitzergerald the prosecutor in that case.

I think the case was a payback for that pardon.

Good one Nancy. I just watched the outraged liberal media make Tony Snow’s day miserable as they asked the same question over and over about President Bush and the commuted sentence. I became groggy and have forgotten the question while my question to them swirled around in my head. “Where were you and your probing questions when clinton pardoned real terrorists and assorted scum bags?” I didn’t hear a peep about that.
