“Just heard! Libby will not be going to prison. He will get commuted and be on probation for 2 years and pay a fine.”

I can’t think of any reason why Libby’s punishment should have exceeded Sandy Berger’s.

Let's compare and contrast.

Libby: Couldn't recall exactly what day he told a reporter over a year earlier that the wife of a Democrat political hack was a CIA employee (and NOT an undercover operative) in a case trumped up by the Democrats and MSM (Mostly Socialist Media) to damage Bush in the 2004 election. No underling crime about a politically motivated investigation.

Berger: Admitted to STEALING CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS from the National Archives in order to hide facts from the 9-11 Commission which was chartered to review the facts and to make recommendations for enhancing our national security vis a vis terrorist attacks, this to shield the Clinton Administration from well deserved blame.

Yeah, I'd say they are about equal. But only in the deluded mind of a Democrat or Liberal.
