From our back deck, we had a wonderful view of the fireworks at Mt. Rushmore last night. Had a bunch of neighbors over for blueberry martinis (yuk), strawberry daiquiris and white wine.....red, white and blue. In the spirit of patriotism, I think I might have overdone it a bit. Still feeling the after effects. LOL.

I spoke to some friends who actually braved the trip to the monument last night. Said security was super tight. Good thing.

Now we’re just waiting for some spot fires to show up in the forest from the fireworks. Hot and very dry here.

Man accused of rape hours after he left jail (illegal)

COLUMBIA, Tenn. (AP) - Maury County authorities are looking for a man they suspect raped a 15-year-old girl only hours after being released from jail.

Twenty-4-year-old Juan Villa has been in jail 11 times since 2001 on charges that include assault and public intoxication.

He was released late Friday night and authorities believe he committed rape just hours later. While investigating the crime, a 13-year-old girl also told deputies Villa raped her.

Villa is suspected of being in the country illegally and 13 other suspected illegal immigrants were arrested yesterday while agents searched for him.

Immigrant rights advocates have accused the department of racial profiling because it has detained about 80 illegal immigrants since May, including 25 in a single day.

Sheriff Enoch George says the immigrants were detained after deputies came across them during criminal investigations.

War On Terror: The Mercedes Jihad in London smashes the media-peddled myth that the terrorists are poor, uneducated and oppressed. At least five of the suspects are Muslim doctors.

Since 9/11, the PC elite have lectured us to avoid drawing a connection between the terrorists and Islam. Don’t blame their religion, we’re told. Blame poverty and ignorance.

The Islamic apologists claim there’s nothing in the Quran that justifies jihadi violence in the name of Islam. Apparently these devout doctors — all of whom practiced in Western hospitals — have found something in the Muslim holy book that does.
