Man you love riding that high horse don't ya?

Being civil is "riding a high horse"? Standards have certainly dropped.

I don't have to call him president if I don't want to.

No one said you had to.

He considers me far less than that.

Oh, was he supposed to consider you the President instead?

Remember we didn't want what is best for the country, only he and Teddy Kennedy know what that is.

You're misrepresenting.

He lost the respect of many people who have went to the mat for him for many many years. He sold them out then laughed in their faces and dismissed them as knaves. He's earned the lack of respect he is getting.

I didn't know it was supposed to be a quid pro quo, and the President doesn't seem to be in the habit of selling out or mocking people. He seems to stick to his opinions - right or wrong - and treat his opponents respectfully but firmly.

Only thing I'm embarassed about is once thinking this guy wanted what was best for America.

A typical line of spurious argumentation: he doesn't agree with me, so he must have evil intentions. There is no way he could simply have a different opinion than I do about what might be best.

Tantrums are never helpful.

LOL - you are nuts! No quid pro quo? What do you think your buddy was trying to pull the last two weeks with his Senate cronies?

You seem to prefer a monarchy, where we genuflect in front of the one at the helm. Tea Parties are necessary here my Friend from time to time. They are not pretty so you may want to clear the harbor for a while and sip a mint julep on the porch and talk about the good ol' days where we took our screwing like good ladies and gentlemen. This was one issue that we couldn't afford him to be wrong on. And not only was he wrong, he was incredibly wrong, and condescending, and arrogant, and sneaky. And FYI - there was nothing respectful about the Bush handling of this issue.

I was particularly touched when Bush personally and "respectfully" called the absolutely law abiding Minute Men vigilantes, again when he stated that those of differing opinions didn't want to do what was right for America.

Bush's "respectful" minions Michael Chertoff and Lindsey Graham stated that we wanted to execute 20 million people and that they were going to shut the bigots up.

I guess we're just showing the same respect Bush has shown fellow Republicans.
