Senator Sessions speaking now!!!!
I just called Sen. Sessions’ DC office and said I wanted to thank the Senator for the great leadership he’s shown regarding the immigration bill.
I told the staffer I’m watching him speak on the Senate floor and although I’m not from Alabama I wanted Sessions to know I appreciate his leadership and the good people of Alabama must be very proud of their Senator. She emphatically agreed they were.
This is a defeat for the North American Union too!!!
Hug and kiss all those you love.
God bless America.
Chertoff drew the short straw.
He’s on CNN whining and complaining that the bill had tools they needed, money ($4.4 billion) they needed, etc.
CNN reporter says Bush “looked shaken” when he emerged from his meeting this morning and got the news.
[Awwwwww. Tissue Alert! There goes the bill signing ceremony.]
12:40pm Eastern update. Vote-switching weasel Sam Brownback should really just end his presidential campaign bid right now and stop wasting his poor staffs time.
Reader Dave e-mails: I think an enduring legacy of the vote will be a new nickname for the Senator from Kansas: Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Senator Sam Switch-back.
I really like that: Switch-back. Has a nice ring to it. I also like "Brownback McWeasel", but that's not nearly as creative and can be interchangeable with just about any name.

EDT THE PRESIDENT: I thank the members of the Senate and members of my administration who worked so hard on the border security and immigration reform bill. I'm sorry the Senate was unable to reach agreement on the bill this morning. Legal immigration is one of the top concerns of the American people and Congress's failure to act on it is a disappointment. The American people understand the status quo is unacceptable when it comes to our immigration laws. A lot of us worked hard to see if we couldn't find a common ground -- it didn't work.... |
deserve a pat on our backs. Great job everyone. God Bless America, now let's keep pressure on to ENFORCE THE LAWS! BUILD THE FENCE! Go after employers.
