Here we are again my friends, hopefully for the last debate thread on this particular monstrous legislation. Proceedings are supposed to begin at 9:30 a.m. EST, with the cloture vote being taken at 10:30 a.m.
On a personal note, you've all been wonderful in your passion, vigilance, and commitment to the principles on which our country was founded. If I have to be in a foxhole, I want to be in it with you guys.
The good guys won this round but come the fall the ‘rats are going all out on several fronts.
Will this be classic Byrd or should I go to sleep?
Well, I wasn’t sure about it all this a.m., but it has turned out to be a good day. The old coot from West by GOD Virginia, is talking about himself for 20 minutes, so I am hoping he makes our victory better by putting in his resignation!! That would top it all! Good for us...and congrats folks, congrats!!
Ref: Mitch McConnell
In the end he was a ‘NO’ vote. I’m hoping he comes out and articulates why he voted against is and why it was a bad bill.
You forgot Specter.
If this isn’t a retirement speech - it’s the most bizarre and out of place thing I’ve seen in a long time.
Because he is a socialist but not an idiot. He knew that even his ideal of a socialist paradise would not be able to withstand the horde of illegals - the system would just break down.
More precisely, illegals are pretty damaging to unions.
Sanders voted against the bill because he says it’s NOT amnesty. The bill was too right-wing for him.
Praise the Lord.
And thank you Jim Robinson! GBFR!
It is probably over until the next time it is brought up. When that might happen is hard to say. Our next goal should be to elect more conservatives to the House and Senate, and retake the White House.
Unless Corker had some funky magic hand signals going on, all I heard was a “yes” from him.
Wow...FR is so slow and I think Hot Air crashed too.
Thanking God!
We need to go after the WH and Congress to secure the border. We also need to make people like Graham, McCain, and Hagel pay a huge political price. There needs to be consequences.
No matter what we may think about Senator Byrd, he has always voted for America and her people in this type of situation. Remember he single handedly stopped the last fiasco.
Outstanding job by everyone who took the time to call, fax or email your Senators.
Give yourselves a pat on the back!!!
Now it's time to call President Bush and tell him we will not be voting for anyone who was or is for this bill, including anyone from his family or close circle of advisors. Traitor!
The victory is Yours, O Lord ... the Power is Yours, O Lord ... may we now go and use wisely all that You have given.
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ we praise You, both now and forever more. Amen ...
Someone call W and tell him we won’t be seeing him at the signing..maybe the impeachment if he doesn’t start enforcement now.
