So, let me understand Dickie Durbin; if he chooses to listen to Rush on the street corner (or Talk Radio), I will be “forced” to listen to Al Franken, et al, whether I choose to or not. This is their answer; I have to listen to both sides of the equation without regard to which is logical or reasonable. Conservative hosts will give air time to liberal opponents, but will the liberal hosts do the same? I have heard the liberal attempt at fairness and it usually results in the conservative being yelled at, called names, and is either disconnected without being able to make their point or they disconnect knowing they will never be allowed to make a complete comment without interuption. This is “Fairness” to a Liberal; you had your chance to let me yell at you and call you dumb. What more do you want?

As an Illinois resident.. this is my fax to Durbin:

An article published Wednesday by The Hill quoted Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D.-Ill.),stating: “It's time to reinstitute the Fairness Doctrine. I have this old-fashioned attitude that when Americans hear both sides of the story, they're in a better position to make a decision.”

Liar!

You Democrats are God-damned liars and power mad. Are we in Venezuela? I bet you think pornography is protected by the First Amendment but not Talk Radio.

Talk Radio doesn’t do “stories”, the News does stories. So where are the Democrats calling for Political Censorship for ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, CNN-HN, MSNBC, CNBC, NPR, PBS, New York Times, LA Times, Washington Post, USA Today, et al…

Oh that’s right.. the NINE TO ONE Democrat to Republican ratio is FAIR … FAIR to you demagogues. Senator, you’re a disgrace to the Constitution of the United States, you’re a disgrace to the United States and you’re a disgrace to the State of Illinois. You’re a threat to my freedom and your stance regarding the Jihad against the United States also makes you a threat to my security.

You and your associates are all garbage. Enjoy having lower approval numbers than George Bush, you worked hard for that achievement while dragging the rest of us down with you.

Disrespectfully, []

This is like handing your TV remote control over to the government.

Lost in all this is the fact that most Americans do not even listen to talk radio.

Politicians and many on the left feel it is a moral imperative for the government to control what you and I hear. Someone, somewhere, may hear an opposing view or hear one of their heroes denigrated.

From the beginning we pointed out that Air American would fail because it’s natural constituency, i.e., potential audience, was already listenting to NPR - funded with our tax dollars - and could only listen to one station at a time.

But no-oo-oh, the left responded that left radio just hadn’t been done correctly - what a coinky dink - that sounds just like their excuse for the universal failure of socialism.

The results were exactly as we predicted.

To be fair I think NPR should be made to broadcast Rush Limbaugh and the New York Times to carry a weekly column by Ann Coulter.

I have to listen to both sides of the equation without regard to which is logical or reasonable

They want to corral the time on a given program based on whom the government "feels" is conservative or liberal. Socialism will be accepted when the Capitalist are silenced. This may be a drastic view and may take a generation or so, but I believe this is Hillary's goal.
