This problem was manageable 30 years ago but nobody wanted to deal with it. Now the chickens are coming home and there are no simple answers; and everybody is mad at Bush.

I agree that the problem goes back thirty years, at least.

Maybe people would not be so enraged at Bush if he had made an honest attempt to win them over in legitimate debate.

But what Bush did was collude with Kennedy, McCain, and Graham ("we're gonna tell the bigots to jes' shewtUP!") on a "cram down" strategy over the heads of the American people.

I agree they are not giving us(the people) our proper respect.

In spite of the insult, we should try to keep the best interests of the country in mind.
