I really do have the utmost intellectual respect for people who want more strict border enforcement. It is a completely reasonable argument.

I nonetheless believe the reasonable concerned has morphed into a hate fest toward President Bush.

I hope reason prevails— not just for President Bush but for our nation.

He said he is going to push through this destructive bill even though 80% of Americans do not agree with it.

I think that this is what FR has always been -- hopefully a truth-seeking site, with a healthy application of humor.

The piece has some darned funny lines in it, and I don't think it's firehat's fault if W has given him so much material.

There has always been a battle here between "principles" and "party". This is no different.

I have been a huge Bush supporter since his first inauguration. But, man, I sure can laugh at a piece like this. Again, it's not the writer's fault that events have been so generous.

Remember, as to personal attacks, Bush and his country-club cronies have been questioning the patriotism, intelligence, and racism of those opposed to his illegal immigration bill. The masses of real Americans who he is turning his back on have a right, actually a duty, to respond. You don’t likey, don’t read.
