I love my country.

Consequently, I do greatly admire President Bush.

I am happy to challenge the irrational hatred that presently dominates FR against President Bush.

I do not believe that illegal immigration began with President Bush. I do not think it will end in the next term even if Duncan Hunter became President.

Conservatives could have made all this arguments and elected John Kerry in 2004. They did do this very thing in the 1990s to put in Bill Clinton.

I am not sure why you so admire Bill Clinton or Hillary Clinton [yes I am putting words in your mouth that you never said— Is that okay?— I hope so because everyone does that with Bush— I thought you would enjoy it.]

Democrats are going to win in 2008 because of this pathological hatefest against president Bush.

Enjoy your political tantrum.

I am unimpressed.

He said he believes more and more that the CIA and Dept. of Defense have presented a nightmare scenario to the White House and Congress of what might happen if suddenly the $20-25 billion that flows into Mexico each year (via the illegals working here) suddenly stopped.

I've heard this theory as well and think there's some validity to it based on just how close Mexico came to putting Hugo Chavez Jr. in office last year,

That said: WHY NOT TELL THE TRUTH, MR. PRESIDENT?

Must we go through all of this to avoid a much less intense fight over foreign aid to Mexico?

Let's not even discuss the much more "American" alternative of finding a way to wrest power from the Mexican oligarchy and spread it out amongst the people.

While he has failed on immigration from my perspective, he has done many other things right.
I place less than no value on the opinion of anyone so blinded by their hate over one issue that they ignore any good he has done.

Yours is a post worthy of Cindy Sheehan.

Not a pretty comparison, but, nonetheless, I bear you no ill will.

Recognizing that you have been betrayed by someone in whom you had invested so much hope and loyalty and support is a painful journey.

It is a bit like a mother-in-law who must painfully accept the evidence that her son-in-law has murdered her daughter. Or maybe a wife who wants to deny evidence that her husband is molesting his stepchild.

It is a long painful journey from loyalty to reality when faced with profound and heartbreaking betrayal. We all travel it at our own speed. I wish you well.

Bush has to remember he was elected President, not Emperor. He’s acting like Napoleon.

You got the wrong dictator.... Bush thinks he's Santa Anna !

This piece is just disgusting. I support the President of my country as well - and I have nothing but contempt for the filth who write and post articles like this.

What country are you from? For us Americans, it is simply not possible to support our country and our president. We are forced to choose one or the other.

I choose, as I will always do, to support my country, America. Bush has lost the right to expect any support from me for pretty much anything he might try to do.

This is a great article. Funny, too.

You really have not been paying attention, have you? It's the New World Order that his daddy bragged about. It's one world government, globalism, or the latest euphemism.

Bush has to destroy American in order to usher in the New World Order. This immigration bill will just about destroy America. HE HAS TO DO THIS -- HE HAS NO CHOICE. It is that reason he was put into office by the powers that be. As his daddy can and doubtless has told him, it's not nice to cross the PTB. Just ask President Kennedy.

Although I agree that the immigration bill in its current form will have far reaching and adverse consequences, your post has a "tin foil hat alert" ring to it. Really, calm down. You wouldn't happen to be a Ron Paul supporter would you?

I’m not afraid of over the top rhetoric. It doesn’t put my children at risk.

There are thousands and thousands of several generation Americans, that have been on the government dole for ever, with no end in site.

OK - does that mean you don't mind supporting a few million more? Here's the problem - some people really are disabled - and when the system breaks they won't have a way to survive. Same with people in their 90's who worked their whole lives. They can't go "oh well, gravy train's over - guess I'll go out and get a job".

Sorry, but I've met people who have told me every sibling in their family was on "disability" and they also all worked - (under the table). It won't take long for the children of hard working Mexicans to assimilate to the underclass... Are you ready for reality?

DON’T EVER SAY THAT I HATE AMERICA AGAIN, IN FACT DO NOT EVER POST TO ME AGAIN.

Great piece, Norm!

Oh, the raw nerves! Lesson of the decade (The Zeroes Decade, as it will be remembered):

Don’t love ‘em, the lying politicians, and you’ll never be disappointed.

Just when I thought the vitriol was as vile as it could be, you managed to reach a new low. Bush's support of this awful bill is incomprehensible and is definitely alienating the very people most responsible for his getting elected and re-elected. But to compare this "betrayal" of his base to murdering a loved one or molesting a child is utterly ridiculous and demonstrates the severity of your BDS. Perhaps I was being to generous when I said your posting was worthy of Ms. Sheehan.

Better yet, send them a link to this thread. I'm sure the well-reasoned and articulate expressions of Bush-Hatred will cause them all to reconsider their positions.
