As a subscriber to dialup, I have no interest in Internet video. I may have to watch Fox news.

I have Windows ME—and dialup too.

Open a second window with the youtube video, and go back to FR while it loads in the other window. It may take 20 minutes to load, but you'll still be reading FR while it "does so". Then watch at leisure. What a great idea...'think I'll do that right now! :)

I felt the same way 8 years ago.

Here’s what you do to save a youtube vid.

Pull up two tabs on your browser...one for youtube
and the other for www.youtubex.com in your youtube window search for the file you want...then right click on the link.
Pick “save link location” then go to your youtubex window —
paste it in the tope slot and hit “download” — a black/blue bar will appear and do its thing for a few seconds.

Then scroll down a bit, a box has popped up with the vid you want to download, along with its youtube description.
click the first link in this new box to start the download.

Microsoft will pop a window for you and you should select
“save to disk” and hit okay twice. (Why you have to hit okay twice, I don’t know take it up with that idiot, Gates.)

It will save a file called get_video to your desktop.
A 10 minute download takes roughly an hour. This is about 22 megabytes. Videos of just a couple minutes or less don’t really take too long...my system takes about 3 minutes per megabyte.

When the file is done, move it where you want and rename it
to whatever.flv

To play use a flashplayer. If you don’t have one a free one
can be downloaded from

http://keepvid.com

Enjoy.
