I did show the movie, "An American Tail" to my students. We had just finished a unit based on Ellis Island and the immigration experience.

It really is a very well done movie that illustrates that experience quite well.

I also showed portions of Henry V to my students (the St Crispin Days Speech.) It was for a drop everything and read day we had. I explained the background to the speech and then we read it together. As a treat, I thought they should see how the speech should be read and played that portion of the movie. The kids loved it, and even asked if they could see the rest of the movie. I told them I couldn't but gave them the title of the movie, if their parents wanted to rent it.

Not bad when kids ask to see Shakespeare.
