Area gun manufacturers remain in limbo, unsure if Illinois legislators could put them out of business.
Bills were introduced this year in the Illinois legislature to outlaw high-capacity gun magazines, to ban the .50-caliber rifle, and to ban some types of semi-automatic weapons.
The assaults on the industry were tougher this year, according to gun manufacturers, and that has stalled expansion plans at many of the businesses.

Unfortunately, a line needs to be drawn in the sand and some kind of overridng Federal Law enacted preventing the cyclical erosion of the Second Amendment.
It has reached the heights of absurdity where States like New Jersey are contemplating banning toy guns, and when muzzle-laoding guns of a type in common use during our Revolution are banned or they are subjected to the indignity of triggerlocks.
If the lunatic prostitutes in politician suits succeed with this coninuting flow of legislative garbage, our military will be buying pistols and long guns from the Red Chinese too.
“should look at moving to a much more business friendly state.”
We’d love to have them in Indiana.
Lots and lots of unemployed machinists and tool and die makers here.
A friendly place too!
“our military will be buying pistols and long guns from the Red Chinese too.”
That, and our next generation of radar, sonar, and avionics systems.

There is a simple solution if the gun makers would find the balls to do it...
Refuse to do business with ANY jurisdiction that has gun bans or infringes on 2nd Amendment rights. Ronnie Barrett led the way on this and if all gun makers refused to acknowledge the “exemptions” in law for .gov, the gun issue wouldn’t be an issue and the gun makers would be making more and more money.
Unfortunately, most of them are run by corporate cowards.

When government is through passing anti gun laws, the only protection of your gun rights will be you and your gun.
NH is calling LesBaer: SigArms needs some local competition.
NH needs some more real conservatives so that the shameful blue state status that we now have will be a temporary thing.
If any gun manufacturer moves here, I will buy some of their handguns, to compliment my Glocks, HK, Beretta, and Rugers. I like diversity!
They can move their business over here in Indiana, we love guns and would take the jobs in a heartbeat.
Don’t forget DSA! (I love the FAL!)
Good idea.
I wonder though, if they just run to Glock and other foreign suppliers for their weapons anyway?
I think its time for the NRA and other gun groups to fish or cut bait on the subject of gun rights. It looks like the courts are as amenable to the Second Amendment now as they ever will be.
Come to Texas .... we’re pretty gun friendly ourselves.
Any thoughts on why Indiana can’t attract these businesses, or any big business for that matter? IN has just about the same weather as IL, it’s got Lake Michigan lakefront, it’s got universities, it’s got plenty of water ... and the only major industry is Eli Lilly, which has been there since just after the Civil War, and Cummins Engines. Guidant is also based in IN, but it was a spin off of Lilly.
IL has Sears, Boeing, CAT, Navistar, Abbot, Deere, McDonalds, Motorola, ADM, and more.
So what is IN doing wrong that companies won’t cross the border to set up shop in IN?
Bring them to Indiana, make that Perry County, Indiana. Rolling hills along the mighty Ohio river and can probably get some help with cost of moving, free property and tax breaks.
They should all come to Virginia, even our RAT senator is pro-gun
We’d be pleased to have them here in Florida!

We did win a bid for a new Honda factory in Greensburg, IN.
I’m not really sure why more companies don’t consider us.
I wish they would, we sure need the jobs here.
