Did you make it to Bonneville in 1954? I'll never forget the Chrisman Brothers "32 coupe" with the De Soto Hemi in the back that turned 193 mph at 7500 rpm. Sounded like a giant buzz saw cutting a big groove down the salt.

Sure did, that’s when we gave it up with the flathead.
The blue 32 with the one foot white stripe down the middle sponsored by Sparks and Bonnie Sutomotive and with #1 on it since we were the high point car in SCTA.
We had it at 254 until the last day when Voight & Colb showed up with their hemi DeSoto, made 2 runs for an average of 176, put it on the trailer and went home.
After 54 we sold the roadster and quit.
