Oh boy!... I pointed out to use the verse in Acts as backing veneration of relics/objects is absolutely bogus, since that WAS NOT the intent/meaning of the verse. I DID NOT claim anyone was venerating St Paul's handkerchief, which would be kooky since it doesn't exist today. See how quick YOU WERE to falsely accuse. I would not lecture on the subject if I were you.
Joseph of Arimathea being the owner of the house is one of the core parts of the Arthurian legends. (JOA apparently went to England with some of the apostles; legend says he took his dishes.)
Regardless, the more important points are (on what the cup would look like is): (1) house of someone wealthy enough to have an upper room (as opposed to a shack) and (2) Passover Seder, which meant they were breaking out the good silver, so to speak.
Ergo, whether JOA or not, you’d be looking for a nice cup that an upper-middle-class or lower-upper-class Jew would have at the time.
