WASHINGTON - The scene: A diner and a jukebox. A nostalgic song. A long fade to black. It worked as a finale for "The Sopranos." It now marks a new beginning for "The Clintons."
Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign on Tuesday unveiled its new campaign song with a Web video that spoofs the final scene of the popular HBO mobster series.
The video and the announcement of Celine Dion's "You and I" as the official Clinton tune cap a monthlong, interactive Internet campaign that drew more than a million viewers to the Clinton campaign Web site and to YouTube, the popular online video display room.
It also illustrates the growing reliance by some of the more technologically savvy campaigns to connect with voters and potential donors in a clever, relatively inexpensive format that is infused with pop culture references, contemporary themes or intimate moments.
Just this week, the campaign of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a Republican, posted a video featuring Romney's wife, Ann, narrating scenes of Christmas vacation last year when the family reached the decision to pursue the White House.
In the new Clinton clip, Hillary Clinton, like Tony Soprano, spins through the musical selections in a diner in Mt. Kisco, N.Y., near her home in Chappaqua, as her husband, former President Clinton, quizzes her about the campaign and the song contest winner.
The Soprano touches are subtle but perfectly obvious to any fan of the series.
The music that plays through the video is not Dion's but Journey's "Don't Stop Believin,'" the same song that Tony Soprano chooses from the jukebox in the show's final scene. At one point, actor Vince Curatola, who played New York mob boss Johnny "Sack" Sacramoni in the series, walks menacingly by the Clintons' table.
Tony Soprano ordered onion rings. Hillary orders carrots for Bill. "No onion rings?" the former president asks forlornly.
"Where's Chelsea?" Sen. Clinton asks. Outside a car tire hits the curb. "Parallel parking," President Clinton replies.
"How's the campaign going?" he asks.
"Well, like you always say, focus on the good times."
"So what's the winning song," he presses.
"You'll see."
"My money is on Smash Mouth," he says. "Everybody in America wants to know how it's going to end."
"Ready?" Hillary asks.
The scene fades to black.
But, no, unlike the Sopranos, it's not over. You can click to hear Dion's song. A new page pops up. The most prominent word stands out against a red background:
"Contribute."

Dear nutmeg:
I, for one, contribute to this site just about every day and was totally unaware of any “purge.”
Your link is to a lefty site (NY Observer) so I question the accuracy of their report as to the internal affairs of FR.
BTW, since you know about Mia T, do you know any other screen names who were banned? Perhaps Mia T was banned because her material was unconventional, to say the least, and she may have used profanity or nudity on occasion? (I believe she maintains her own site, anyway.)

“Not a bright move on the part of Hillarys campaign. Someone is bound to come up with a spoof COMPARING the Clintons to the Sopranos.”
Let’s hope so........
I simply cannot understand why anyone would vote for Hillary, Hitlary, Shrillary.......
D-I-A-B-O-L-I-C-A-L !!
I know the cost of cigarettes keeps rising, especially since the gub'ment seems to think they can fund all of their utopian socialist agenda simply by taxing smokers, but I didn't know that people were rolling and smoking holly.
That's gotta smell and taste like crap. ;)
though you say Hillary is doomed, she can do a lot of damage before payday, Hitler did a lot of damage before he was doomed, he was evil. Hillary and Hitler seem related to me because of their evil bond they share. Who knows? I find it fascinating the way Hillary can relate herself with the mob in a propoganda video and her followers are fine with it, always making excuses and always justifying what Hillary does, it’s just fascinating. I think the implcation of the video is that Hillary plans on dealing with her enemies the same way the mob deals with theirs. One way or another, she will.
I had to click on this just because of your title. Thanks for giving me a good laugh this morning.
And how else can we explain Hillary’s lunch with John Kennedy Jr., warning him not to run with the Senate from New York, it sucks, I knew the Kennedy’s were being suckers for letting the Clintons suck up to them. It’s sad, sometimes when you’ve got all that money it makes one a little naive.
Thank you for reminding us of the final battle, I love being a Christian, it’s fun. I like going through life with my eyes open, what do you think?
“They try so hard to be hip”.
-———they are the biggest squares out there.
Don’t forget, Bill Clinton is on record as saying
his favorite “musician” was Kenny G.
(It figures: Kenny’s computerized Muzak is on a par with Clinton’s vacuous glibness.)
Well, there is a Dixie Mafia.
Bob Schieffer on CBS said to Harry Smith the ad was excellent and will launch Hillary because it shows humor,a Hillary problem area.......................now you can really puke
dead...what is a “douche chill”?
dead, don’t you have your eye out for Mullah Omar anymore? : {
I’m glad you enjoy being a Christian.
If I may?
If you're a guy, substitute the phrase "ice water enema"...
Thanks, Hillary, for making this video. You look creepy in it, just like the thug you are, and we Republicans could never, never, in a million years have equated you and Bill to a crime family better than you do yourself. Kudos. Now, please fade to black.
I recall that when JFK Jr.'s plane went down, some people were thinking sabotage on the ground as a possible cause. The "official" story was that Jr. was an inexperienced pilot and that the crash was due to pilot error. Frankly, I'm not sure about that one.
In contrast, there is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Vince Foster was murdered!
Well, actually, there's a lot of historical evidence demonstrating that the Clintons have been linked to oraganized crime, long before this video.
