NASHVILLE (Billboard) - It would play right into the hands of critics if the seven Live Earth concerts to be staged worldwide July 7 were to come off in an unfriendly environmental way.
And it's probably fair that no concerts in history will be more closely monitored for how well they manage power and waste.
Live Earth producers want the world to watch what they do. "We want to make the concerts themselves part of the solution," Live Earth's Yusef Robb says. "What we're working very hard to do is something that has never been done before: establish a new green event standard that Live Earth will not only follow but hopefully future live events will follow as well."

But the world is running out of electrons!! ;-)
“But the world is running out of electrons!!” ;-)
Now if we could just run out of morons !!!!! ;-)
Sorry, saw the title and had to get this line in.
Mostly because they deserve ridicule. When they a done lecturing the great unwashed audience with their junk science, the big name rock stars and Saint Algore will head off in their fleet of private jets to the next destination. Each of these societal parasites will burn more fuel in a day than the average productive citizen will consume in a year.
Not to mention the hypocrisy of people like Cameron Diaz and all her "green" hollyweird buddies. I'm told she has a show on MTV called Trippin, where they travel to parts of the world where indigenous people do not use electricity or fuel (by necessity, not choice...too remote).
Then Drew Barrymore takes a squat in the woods and say it's it's so primal and awesome. Then back to Cameron who says how much she admires these people and their green way of life, and that Americans are too soft and addicted to their modern conveniences...then after it's all over, they fly back to their 20,000 sq. ft. mansions and party on.....trippin dude....
I don't begrudge them their mansions, they earned the money, but when they try to tell me and everyone else how we should live "greener" then I'll call B.S. on the hypocritical @#$%^&*.
That idiot Diaz even said that one of the hollywierd POS was helping the environment by "taking shorter showers"...wow...isn't that nice of them?
Well look what a great job the musicians have done ending African famine, the Farm Crisis, Homelessness and Aids. Oh I forgot, Bangladesh is fixed too. I’m sure the environment is safe now. /sarc
