“Undocumented workers” vs. “illegal alien” terminology. Yes, they are illegal aliens, but I also wonder what percentage of the illegals, plus their dependents and anchor babies in the US actually work? The argument is always that they are all here to “do the work that Americans won’t.” Does anyone have statistics that show how many of them really work?
Since the estimates vary widely on how many are even here, I doubt anyone knows how many work. Which raises the question about the present Senate bill, "How can you pass such open-ended legislation without having any real hard data? We could be legalizing the status of 30 million people plus authorizing their children, spouses, and parents to join them under chain migration. How can this country absorb such numbers? Even without this bill, the Bureau of the Census projects that we will be adding 62 million people in the next 23 years [by 2030] or the equivalent of the current population of the UK.
