How clever - a source from the President tries to talk with the people and, lo, the people take it as a personal opportunity to thrash the President of the United States.

You must think they care what we think. It doesn't take logging onto Free Republic for them to find out that people are irate. The number of calls and faxes to the Senators and WH, the questions to the candidates during the debates from citizens, and poll numbers by unbiased pollsters give them all they need to know.

No, Clancy, thos White House source was talking AT “the people”. Talking WITH us would require him to listen, and the Bush Administration stopped doing that some time ago.
