It is the Bush haters who will continue this free ride by insisting on the the non passage of immigration reform. President Bush is not giving anybody a free ride. He cannot. Your legislators that you elected have the job of crafting the legislation that their constituents ask for. President Bush has responded to the desperate need for immigration reform by getting the congress to address the matter. You are not satisfied with what they have come up with and have insisted on shooting any compromise down. Your frothing fellow posters do not even want their representatives in the House to get the bill so that they can sign on or not. The House has the power to change that bill any way they want. Why is there this attempt to stop it prematurely? If you truly want some in depth understanding of my position regarding this immigration topic, go to the website for THE ANCHORESS. She is quite good at presenting her thinking in an unemotional and very understandable context.
I am not a Bush hater. I voted for him twice and had high hopes that he would go down in history as a great President because of his firm stand on protecting our Country against Islamic terrorisms.
I am one who is insisting on the non passage of immigration reform, as drawn up in this bill being considered. This is not about immigration reform. This bill is more about illegal alien reform. We don’t need to reform our country’s laws against illegal aliens. We need to ENFORCE our country’s laws against illegal aliens — not change the laws.
I respectfully disageement that President Bush is not wanting to give anybody a free ride. That is exactly what he is trying to do — it is a free ride — but it is not free. U.S. taxpayers will be paying for it.
Our country cannot afford this illegal alien reform bill. Economically, politically, socially. We can’t afford it. It will destroy the United States.
Although you probably will not divulge it, you must have a hidden agenda — to support this illegal alien reform.
