Anything happen to Paulie?

He's gonna wind up with skin cancer, and then die of anaphalactic shock from a severe case of cat dander allergy!

The only real part of the show was Paulie Walnuts unzipping his pants at the table.

The political crap ruined the program.

What did they say about the President. You know the cast are a bunch of liberal shit heads anyway.

Thank you. You just nailed it. That was what I was thinking after the credits ran. When it exactly happened, though, I thought it was lame. The ending was left up to our imaginations, ala Hitchcock (the best suspense is not what we see on the screen, but what a film makes us imagine in our minds).

I think the cat shoots Paulie.

I wonder what happened in Vegas I heard that there were bets on whether Tony gets killed.

Not that I really care but those who saw it (I don’t follow it) said it wasn’t worse than the final episode of “Seinfeld” (which I didn’t see either).

Certainly a plausible interpretation (black = Tony dead). I think I’ll consider it the meaning of the black screen, unless something happens (like a movie) to contradict it. That’s better than considering it a non-ending.

Some mentioned "Six Feet Under", but I have no idea what that is.

For the most part I hated Six Feet Under (the first drama series HBO did after The Sopranos), but they did something with the ending that no other show ever did: The end was a montage showing exactly how every character in the show was going to die, going more than fifty years into the future. It was breathtaking.

You dreamed that. Nothing happened, they wimped out completely. OTOH, we can now coin a new phrase, “That was a lame as the Soprano’s finale.”

“The ending was left up to our imaginations, ala Hitchcock (the best suspense is not what we see on the screen, but what a film makes us imagine in our minds).”

In that case, there was no need for the show in the first place.

Yeah, that’d be interesting to know. I am sure many people bet and lost.

Real actors and real talent can tell a story without trying to make the audience feel stupid and manipulated.

Let them make a movie. I won’t go see it.

It will probably be playing opposite Shrek The Ninth.

That scene gave me the idea that the FBI guy had a bet going on with someone over who was going to get whacked first, Tony or Phil.
>>

Nah. He really came to identify with Tony. Happens in real life to LEO who work the same target years on end. Kind of like the Sopranos audience itself. Tony sucks, but, because you see from his point of view, you come to identify with him.

If there were odds in Vegas, that proves how lame it was. You can’t pay or take on that. Give me the vig and I give a huge and longlasting booooooooooooooooo!

The people that saw the show as dynamic and more than just a show about the Mob, will be the people that loved the ending. Those who didn’t see the Sopranos for all its complexities in the past 6 years, won’t like the ending or understand it.

Well, I followed The Sopranos from Day One, and enjoyed (and understood) all its nuances and complexities over the years. This final episode stunk, IMHO...

The political crap ruined the program.

Yeah. Even the hit on SUV's. What was with that?

I thought the "Seinfeld" finale was an act of genius.

It will be interesting to see what Vegas or whoever took action on the outcome do.

I remember that now. Gilligan was a real bastard that way.

Yeah; we all “misunderestimated” him. Karl Rove was his mastermind.
