Later, a U.S. soldier at a checkpoint found a hand grenade in the tool bag of a bicycle. The teenage boy riding the bike claimed that it wasn’t his and that someone else must have put it there. The troopers had little choice but to let the boy go; possession of a hand grenade is not enough to get a conviction for insurgent activities in an Iraqi court, they say.

More stupid worse than Nam rules of engagement.

The hell with what Iraqi courts say. We are doing the fighting and spending and dying. Either they do what we say or we leave and let them die by the millions.

War cannot be made properly when those in command are more concerned with what the voters will be led to believe by the news media rather than the outcome.
I think we have shown the people of Iraq that we are not as big a threat to them as our enemy is and they will cooperate with those whom they fear most.

Bottom line, you can’t fight and win a PC war which by its nature dictates that you’re more interested in pleasing the enemy than saving American lives. They will/are/have already followed us home. They are plotting to blow up places like JFK’s fuel lines, etc. and only have to get lucky once. The MSM and Libs/dems are in bed with the enemy. Why in the world doesn’t the average dumb voter understand this?
