This would explain why Zed Zed Top’s music was never very popular in Canada.

The English long spoken in Apalachia and preserved in folk ballads was closer to early English than the English spoken in London.
Most Americans learned to read - and they learned to read from the King James Bible.

One of the "Beavers" we're talking about
Hehe, thanks for that photo GMMAC. Good to see what that treasonous American speaking beaver actually looks like. :-)
... suffice to say, not my idea of the good time variety of same.
Wouldn't be my first choice either. ;-)

And it's happening fast. Only seven years have passed since Molson's Joe Canadian first electrified us with his belief "that the beaver is a truly proud and noble animal. "A tuque is a hat, a chesterfield is a couch, and it is pronounced Zed not Zee. Zed!"Ah yes, the Molson "I Am Canadian" guy. That would be the same guy who high-tailed it for Los Angeles the moment his "I Am Canadian" ads made him famous and he was actually able to get in the door for some serious auditions.

That rant was a damned embarrassment.
It is the reason that I will no longer buy Molson ale.

There are actually 2 Bell Beavers:
"Frank" & Gordon".
The former is the more or less 'straight man' in their repartee & is voiced by Norm MacDonald; who you may recall holds the distinction of being the only comedian gassed from SNL where producer Lorne Michaels conceded "he just isn't funny".

Thanks for that GMMAC. I agree on Norm MacDonald and also understand your comment earlier...these two guys (beavers) could get very annoying before too long.
