Just as a disabled or mentally handicapped prisoner is going to require special handling, someone famous is NOT “just like everyone else”<<<<<<<

There are plenty of disabled and mentally handicapped people in jail. In the case of Hilton, she has spent the recent years of her life playing to the media, virtually daring them to photograph her breaking the law. I’m real sorry it’s so traumatic for her to actually have consequences for her actions, but this may save her life and that of the potential victims of her drunken driving.

She didn’t just drink and drive, she was given probation, like “everyone else”, and defiantly violated her conditions at least three times. Being a spoled brat is not a mitigating circumstance to allow her to stay out of jail. The fact that she has cultivated her celebrity status doesn’t give her a pass. There are plenty of rich people who live quietly and go about their business, but she hasn’t chosen to do that.

She ought to have to pay for a parole officer to watch her 24/7. She’s got megabucks, she can afford chauffeurs.
