Girl kills elephant with 83-lb bow
One of the more unusual stories I've seen on the archery forums recently...
How about wild hogs taken with an airgun. Now, there’s a challenge !
You know where to 'stick-it.'
From your response I take it the answer is "nothing"?
It’s actually been done and with 177-cal air rifles to boot.
I don’t doubt they could, they were MEN. This isn’t even a woman, but a GIRL.
I suppose strong girls could, i was just surprised.
I have a 50 cal air rifle that does 900 fps and 250 ft. pounds. I shoot a .495 Speer ball.
If there’s any photo tricks being done her it’s to put a girl’s head on a man’s body.
What a hoot.
In African nations where legal elephant hunting still exists, the elephant is thriving. In countries that have banned the hunting of elephants, such as Kenya, they are indeed in danger.
Hmmmm...
And I am skilled at both wildlife photography and hunting. Been doing both for the better part of three decades.
There is no comparison between the two. Hunting is in a world of its own as far as the relationship between man and wildlife.
As a hunter I am sorely disappointed in the general ignorance of huntings role in conservation. (As many have already mentioned here) As a conservative I am even more disappointed in the number of so called “conservatives” that would so easily force their will on hunters.
Next time Hillary, Kennedy, or pick a Dem tries to confiscate your money, guns, or freedoms then you who would deny this woman her freedom should just bend over and say “thank you sir may I have another.”
I would have thought I wondered onto the puke up democrat thoughts forum if I did not know better.
Bravo! Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Ill be impressed when she takes one down with a wrist rocket.
Perfectly legal in the right place with the rught permit.
Nice Trophy!
Look at her arms. Put enough surgical tubing on it and she might be able to!
Hey, that would make a good “Mythbusters” episode. “Can you kill an elephant with a slingshot?”

I guess I'm as sick as an islamist then.
Let's run down the probable facts of this hunt, shall we?
1. Elephants are not endangered. In fact many Africans consider them pests. How much would you enjoy having a herd of 2 ton rabbits in your garden?
2. This hunt most likely cost this young lady well over $20,000 considering guide fees, permits, travel, etc.
3. I've killed more than one animal in my life and with the exception of putting down beloved family pets I've 'gloated' over every one of them. I've even had my picture taken with the corpses. Pretty sick, huh?
4. I'm not even sure I could draw, much less fire accurately an 80 lb. bow.
5. During most of these hunts, the meat is distributed to local villagers, adding a large amount of vital protein to their diets. Yes, people do eat elephants.
6. The money this young lady spent injected thousands of dollars into the local economy. How dare she do something which actually helps Africans. Why the temerity of it. Maybe she should have just attended a Bob Geldoff/Sting concert and called it a day...
7. Culling the herds actually insures a healthy population as well as securing vital agricultural crops for the indigenous population.
8. Don't stop by my house. You'll no doubt be shocked at the severed heads hanging on my wall. "Allah akbar" indeed...
9. This young lady undoubtedly had to spend days in the bush until she found an animal that met the very strict requirements laid out by every single African country for a lawful kill. If one makes on single mistake during one of these safaris, the fines are incredibly steep and jail time is a very real possibility. I doubt she fancied spending time in an African prison.
That's about all I can come up with off the top of my head. Give me some time and I'll come up with a few more reasons why this young lady should be congratulated rather than condemned.
Regards,
L
Personally, I've avoided killing any living being for fun, and I'm proud of it.
Killing for meat though -- that's an entirely different story. Mmmmm, deer jerky. I'm hungry.
It is a small African elephant....a calf that is probably less than a year old.
Correction: The tusks indicate that it might be more than a year old but this is still a calf.
She’ll be having elephant sandwiches for months.
I hate her.
