Indeed.

There are no prospects for increased border enforcement.

The border will remain more open than ever because of the failure of this bill.

It is a mere exercise in irrational anger.

There are no political solutions to illegal immigration which will not be denounced as SHAMNESTY.

Everyone here knows it.

Everyone here is perfectly willing to have Hillary Clinton as President for 8 years and the House and the Senate to be controlled by forever.

In that period of time immigration laws will not get tighter.

The irrationality of this group is astounding.

Enforcement of the present laws is a real good start .

May I suggest, then, that this really isn't the place for you?

Legislation was passed last year for funding fence construction. Very little has been done to date. There are laws on the books which would take care of this problem, if they were enforced.

Oh boy, I'd hate to be you. I would argue that your "irrationality" is "astounding", lol. I think I understand where you're coming from, but the end (doubtful) do not justify the means. We've got a huge problem and just glossing over it doesn't cut it. We need to get tough before it's too late. IMHO, the stakes are higher than you think.

The only irrational one in this group is you. There are several bills out there that are better than this turd.
None are perfect, but most are much closer to what could be deemed as “good for the US” instead of “best for Messico”.

Cloture sucks, ok?

Comprende’?

Everything should be discussed...instead of a cheesy blanket up or down vote.

Read up a bit more there amiga.....before you wedge your foot deeper into your mouth, ok?

No, the border will remain more open than ever because of the failure of this PRESIDENT. We have a president who refuses to carry out his oath and enforce the law. We don't need new laws, we need a new president.

“VThere are no prospects for increased border enforcement.”

Why not? Maybe the anger of the people will wake up Washington DC to shake a stick on building the fence.

I have little hope the Bush admin will try, but if history is a guide, he will at least attempt to *look* like he is trying to get some traction back on the issue...

LET THEM BUILD 200 MILES OF FENCE *FIRST* BEFORE ANY NEW BILL IS CONSIDER AND THEN COME BACK TO THIS BILL TO *PROVE* THEY ARE SERIOUS.

That will do 10 times more for border security than anything else.
