You know, I have yet to have it explained to me why Bush pushed this bill. How does it serve the national interest (not employers interest). Why are we wrong in a country in excess of 300 million to import the poorest, the least educated, and the poorest trained, impoverised portion of a very poor nation? Neither Bush nor any pro illegal immigration partisan even tried to educate me on this issue. What was self evident could not be refuted.....so we are called bigots, said that we don't want what is best for this country.....all ad hominem attacks.....but the case for their being for this country importing maybe 40 to 50 million was....the job is too hard to administered the codified federal laws. We cannot deport 12 million....We will not even try to administer the law.

And we are supposed to get in line because Bush calls us names....the very people who were activist and put him into office......

Mr.Bush next time you want to sell your bill, whatever it is, take a little time and discuss it clearly and openly with your base rather than try to run rough-shod over our backs. We are not mindless robots. Get used to it.

Perhaps it was because he's trying to "make nice" with the Mexicans & the Mexican vote......

There's something very fishy about this whole thing. The proponents were frenetic about getting it shoved through...

To PO his remaining two dozen supporters. He's aiming for single digit approval ratings - and accomplishing it swiftly...

Bush favored this bill because he and Karl Rove are suffering from the delusion that 12 - 20 million illegal Mexican and other assorted invaders are going to eventually favor the Republican party and vote for Republicans, thus keeping the Republicans in power for gernerations. I would think that the Socialist/Mexicans and other assorted illegals waving Mexican flags and demanding their new Aztec homeland from America's southwest would have disabused them of their fantasy. But it didn't.

President Bush is also determined to merge America, Canada and Mexico into some sort of weird continent-wide union similar to the failed and bizarre EU on the other side of the Atlantic. Americans will never stand for that. And he knows it. So he has tried to make it a defacto union by ignoring our immigration laws and not deporting anyone -- even criminals. Americans can see the results of this in their cities, neighborhoods, crime statistics and the decline in their society.

Also, George Bush's brother Jeb is married to a Mexican national. This I believe has also influenced his position regarding unlimited Mexican/Latino immigration. Not to mention all the other illegals/legals that are invading this land of ours. There is far to much "legal" immgration too!
