You know what the most alarming part of all this is?

The early vote had 33 members of the Senate voting for cloture.

The most recent vote had 45 members voting for it.

The arm-twisting and favor-trading must have been huge!

If the pro-amnesty supporters know that they can change 12 votes in that short of time, they’ll keep pushing this bill - albeit in a more behind the scenes manner.

That is frightening.

There may have been some orchestration of the ‘change’ itself...the amount of treacherous chicanery among **some** of these coward opportunists, like their cowardice and opportunism, cannot be overestimated.

But let us not curse them all, for many are faithfully doing what they can to fight this for all our sakes.

Let us also remember to pray for them. For some—encouragement and health. For some—for repentance and God’s own wrath, not ours.

What I want to know is why all those who begged for passage of this bill were so bent out of shape about it. They were really acting like people who had been threatened with something dreadful. Think mob threats in 1930’s B movies. Some of them were bordering on hysteria, especially the ones going against their constituents. It made absolutely no sense.

Putting tin foil hat on: what is going on behind the scenes?!? Have these people sold out to something or someone? Where does SOROS fit into all of this (other than providing the free 800 number so that we can call our Senators. I don’t remember the whole number, only that it ends in 666. Very fitting!)

According to parliamentary procedure, a motion or bill that's defeated may be brought up again if someone who never voted for it announces that he's changed his mind (any particular person can only do this once on a motion or bill). If it becomes clear a motion or bill isn't going to pass, it's common for one or more of its supporters to vote against it so they can "change their mind" and support it. I don't know how many of the votes that switched were "real" votes against it and how many were holding back.
