Tonight's cloture motion has just gone down to defeat. No where near the 60 yea votes needed to cut off debate.
Harry now pontificating on Senate floor.
I agree. I’ve slept on the whole thing since I posted last night and I just don’t believe that he is the horrible calculating person people think he is.
Very good post. I totally agree. We should be bashing the dems and the RINOs’, not the Pubbies who have remained faithful to the cause. Thats the one gripe I have always had, especially durring the 06 elections is that the Dems were getting a pass, even from Freepers, while the Repubs were constantly getting bashed. I think the liberal media does have an effect on even the sanest people.
The North American Union (NAU) would be a new country. How would abolishing the USA via a merger with Mexico and Canada be best for the country? President Bush is either incredibly naive or being a phony regarding this issue.
Oh. how cozy. What do they think is so funny?
Opposition in primaries should already have begun organizing.
Hermann Cain in Georgia.. you listening?
Ted Kennedy even looks evil. Now he is saying “the bill will back.”
Duncan Hunter says it well.
Boxer’s vote surprised me. A number of other Democrats also voted NAY. The pressure must have worked. Odd that Brownback abstained. Not a good choice.
Interesting comments..... Here’s another writing basically saying that Bush has been what he always was and stated what he was, believed and thought appropriate... I’m not condoning the article or its beliefs but just offering it for another side to all this back and for.

Boxers vote surprised me. A number of other Democrats also voted NAY.
When is she up for re-election?
Not only is EMK vowing to bring back the bill, so is his MA-born cohort, one GWB. GWB said from the summit in Europe that he wants Reid to bring the issue back for consideration. This next time he means to have victory!
She was elected in 2004. I think she voted “No” just to spite her nemesis, GWB.
This makes GWB sounds like EMK’s sould bro. It whill end up hurting the GOP.
Very interesting read! Everyone should read it. That would explain why I have felt this deep down conviction that Bush is who he says he is. This helped to clear up my confusion. Thank you for that link.
And thank you and all the rest of the FReepers for posting here. I agree with your posts. and they were pretty good on this thread. It was FreeRepublic and other conservative blogs that stopped this Amnesty monstrosity. Laura Ingraham said this on her radio show today too.
We did it. this is really amazing if you think about it. that we the little people were able to defeat the big media and these Senators who think they are kings.Victory was ours today. We won the day and the battle but the war still is not won. The forces of evil will attack again with this Amnesty for 200 million illegals and their families.
Republican Senators stopped this bill. Only 7 Republican senators voted to not kill this bill. The rest of the Republican senators (42 of them) voted to kill this bill. They deserve a thank you note. If Republicans would have voted like Democrats did then we would have Amnesty for 20 million illegals and their families who would travel to the U.S.A. ,200 million in all. Only 8 Democrats voted to kill the bill. So if Republicans would have voted like Democrats we would have had only 16 votes to kill the bill which would not have been enough
Vote on this Amnesty that would have turned the U.S. into a socialist Venezuela or Cuba:

Another great post! Keep it up. I am proud of our Republican Senators.
There’s something profoundly troubling about this photo. Bush and Clinton are WAY too cozy.
My state of Alabama is still holding tough... Thank you Sessions and Shelby
Giving out amnesty is NOT the will of the people.
It IS the will of career politicians.
