Pocono 500 - my second favorite race of the year (the first being Sirius at the Glen (formerly Bud at the Glen) - both tracks are a short trip (80 minutes or so) from Binghamton, NY, where I grew up, and my Dad used to take me to one or the other on rotating years.

I'll be at Pocono this week. It was kind of a last minute thing this year. A lot of stuff going on; my mother died, my sister had surgery, no OT at work (which I sort of count on in spring).

I'm looking forward to the weekend. My sister and I planned the menu earlier this week. It will be ribs, beer, steak, beer, baked potatoes, beer. And jello shots.

My 20 year old nephew has to learn to drive a stick between now and Sunday so he can drive home.
