I’m sorry-I know Hendrick has been around a long time and has overcome a lot, but I’m just not that crazy about this move. I was a Dale Sr. fan.
IMO Dale Sr would have done the same thing if in Jr’s shoes. Actually he did, at the same age by going to RCR. He had his own team at DEI and Jr has his own team at JRM which is a Busch team for the time being.
I honestly think Dale Sr would be very proud that his son has made this decision considering the circumstances he was in at DEI. Racers are just that, they want to win....it’s not about colors or numbers as I’ve said before, it’s about winning and being given the equipment to achieve that. It’s quite simple really.
Time for me to re-boot and get set. BBL

Earnhardt Jr. announced last month that he would leave DEI.
Tony Soprano didn’t get whacked this week, however Kyle Busch may not be so lucky.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. has scheduled a news conference for Wednesday at 11 a.m. (ET) at his JR Motorsports race shop with speculation he will replace Busch in the line-up at Hendrick Motorsports.
And here I am FReeping in front of the big-screen hooked up to the cable box (so I can watch Speed and ESPNews) instead of seeing whether the 5 is still at the Milwaukee Mile. Oh well; the wind isn’t blowing out of the northwest, so I won’t be in any immediate danger from the expected Shrub meltdown.
I am supposed to be on the road and gotta leave by no later than 8:10 PT. Hope it’s quick. May have to hear it on Sirius.
You’ve got 9 minutes for the circus. I’ll keep you covered.
We're LIVE with Winston Kelly, and it's on Sirius.
Jr and Kelley are on the stage.
Rick Hendrick now up on the stage.
Some of us have to work, LOL.
The field is now off the board for the 2008 Nextel Cup championship.
What number? What number?
Hendrick - “Ricky told me about 4 years ago that this was going to happen.... I’ve known him since he was a puppy, him and Kelley both.”
What was he saying about racing with integrity??
Jr now telling a story from back in the day (1991) on how he met Hendrick, and the "napkin contract" story.
Q - How did this get together?
Hendrick - (paraphrase) "Kyle Busch and I had been negotiating an extension since the end of last year, and it became clear that he was talking to others. About the Charlotte race, we started to finish things up, and we both decided a fresh start would be good."
Shrub is GONE after this year.
Number question (not) answered by Hendrick - it’s too early to talk team-car-sponsor alignment.
Jr now going into the history of Ralph and Rick.
