This money is going to go to the same place the vast majority of all aid to Africa goes, into the Swiss bank accounts of the local kleptocracy. It’s not going to spread Christianity, it’s not going to buy us friends, it’s not going to keep the Islamofascists at bay and it’s not going to keep people from dying of AIDS. Our hard-earned tax money is going to enrich despots so Bush can feel good about his pathetic self, and I for one have about had it!

Bush, you want to help people in Africa, spend your own millions, not my childrens’ and grandchildrens’ money!

Not every African country is a corrupt dictatorship, and a properly structured aid program would ensure at least a majority of the funds directly helped those with this terrible disease. Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa belong to the free and prosperous world as much as Mexico, Bulgaria, and South Korea. High mortality due to human immunodeficiency virus and associated societal complications alone holds back these three African nations from entry into the First World. These countries support rampant corruption and other evils on the same order as our own country. Other countries like Lesotho, Ghana, and Benin recently began to embrace freedom. Not every African country is ruled like Zimbabwe, Congo, and Equatorial Guinea, and we shouldn’t give aid to perpetuate anarchy, communism, tyranny, and dictatorship therein.
