Bush's Attack on Amnesty Opponents
Townhall ^ | 5/31/07 | Chuck Muth

When it comes to dealing with the illegal immigration issue, President Bush and his administration are their own worst enemies. On other issues, the president is sugar and spice when it comes to Democrat opponents. But when it comes to rule-of-law conservative opposition to his “amnesty” proposal, the preferred method of operation is akin to thwacking the hornet’s nest with a stick.

You may recall that when the Minutemen first brought this issue to major public attention a few years ago with their volunteer border patrols, President Bush called them “vigilantes.” And it’s been pretty much all downhill from there, leading to his big May 29 speech on the current immigration reform proposal at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Georgia.

The president began his remarks by introducing two Hispanic members of his administration, Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez and former Cabinet member Mel Martinez, now a U.S. Senator from Florida. Both were born in Cuba. “I want to mention those two men because, to me, they represent what the immigration debate is all about,” the president said.

So right out of the chute the president misrepresents the issue. I don’t believe Gutierrez and Martinez are illegal immigrants. They and/or their families immigrated here legally. And it appears both came here to escape the oppression of the Castro regime, not to simply get a higher-paying job. So Gutierrez and Martinez are NOT what this immigration debate is about. The issue is over those who break the law to get here.

IMHO - Medved is a pompus a$$!! I heard him go off on Dobbs the other afternoon. I mean this guy went nuts railing on Dobbs about the leprosy issue. Medved got extremely personal w/ his attacks.

Yesterday Dobbs had a response on the CNN website. Dobbs broke all of Medved’s attacks down and gave proof that Medved had gone off w/o the facts.

This isn’t the first time Medved has done that to someone who doesn’t sip the Bush kool-aid and fall in line.

You can have him!

Amazing, still one Bushbot left. I thought Bush wanting to give amnesty to thousands of machete wielding MS-13 gangbangers or sleeper terrorists would be enough to wise up the Bushbots, but I guess you’ll wise up when the gangbangers arrive in your neighborhood. Bush and his boys jailed the Border Patrol agents who shot a drug smuggler - imagine what he’d do to an agent who shot a terrorist crossing the border for instant U.S. citizenship.

Bush’s dream is Mexica - where the ultra-rich Bushs and Kennedys sit drinking cold ones on their plantations and ranches which are worked by low paid “legal” illegal aliens; for you Americans living in the new barrios filled with spanish-speaking gangbangers, it will be a nightmare. A Bladerunner future or L.A. now?

What do you want done with those people that are here?

When stopped by the police, even for a traffic violation, deport them immediately. No social services, other than emergency medical care, are to be given to illegals and their children. Local and state governments that tell their officers and other public officials not to ask about legal status of a suspect or applicant receive a 100% cutoff of Federal funding: roads, schools, law enforcement assistance, everything. Impose a heavy tax on individual remittances outside the U.S. Enforce existing laws that forbid employers from hiring illegals.

...how do you do that without wasting a lot of resources?

Money spent protecting our borders and our national integrity is not wasted. Better that than bridges to nowhere in Alaska and multibillion holes in the ground in Boston.

Who judges who comes here and who decides who comes here and when?

The Constitution authorizes the Congress to govern this matter. We need more real Americans, and fewer Democrats and turncoats like McCain, Kyl, and Specter there.

Where did your family come from and how did they get here?

In my particular case, England, Ireland, and Scotland. They came here legally and followed the rules to become citizens, as did virtually all those of European origin.

Do you want these people shot at the border while they cross?

I don't have any problem shooting at those who attack the Border Patrol or other lawmen. The Bush Administration apparently does, as evidenced by the prosecution of Ramos and Compean for doing their duty.

What happens with the lawsuits when they start?

Congress has the Constitutional authority to limit the scope and jurisdiction of the Federal courts. They just have to develop the courage to deny access to illegals in matters involving law enforcement. The idea that illegals have the same rights as citizens is repugnant to anyone who supports American sovereignty.

The Barrio is already building up in my neighborhood. Illegals are able to buy housing, move in five families, live in the garage, construct tents/awnings to house more. All this in violation of health, safety and fire codes. The local city and county code enforcement look the other way.
When an 80 yr old neighbor of mine (American Citizen) complained about sofas and other junk one of these fine new neighbors left rotting on the curb.... her thanks was a visit from code enforcement and a ticket because a garage safety light she had installed was shining “too much light into the street”! Still the violators of basic health and safety codes have yet to be cited.

"It called for a court system for North American dispute resolution and said that illegal aliens should be allowed into the United States Social Security system through the Social Security Totalization Agreement."

********

Social Security has been considered the untouchable “third rail” of politics. No politician dared suggest any changes to it for fear of being thrown out of office. However, Social Security Director Joann Barnhart in July of 2004 signed the U.S.-Mexico Totalization Treaty and built a SSA building in Mexico. She must think there will be a treaty signed, or something else (amnesty?) will happen to make use of that building. That “something” could be the inclusion of the right of illegals made legal in the bills being considered by the new Congress and thereby making them eligible for Social Security benefits, along with their relatives.

LOL....Let’s put this in another perspective: If I break into Sen. Ted Kennedy’s Massachusetts home and move into one of his spare bedrooms, as long as I pay a fine, pass a background check, keep a job, stay out of trouble and speak drunkenese, I can continue to live there.

And if I just pay a little bit more of a fine, I can actually become a member of the Kennedy family, as long as I return briefly to Nevada and fill out some paperwork. The fact that I broke the law by breaking into his home in the first place doesn’t mean I have to move out. I’m forgiven, and won’t suffer any penalty other than having to pay a little fine. But that’s not amnesty, right?

Really he’s kept me safe, all he’s done is gone after the middle man for the Saudi Royal family who launders oil money for Wahabi terrorists, then this person allows 70,000 more Saudi Student Visas to be rushed through? Did I mention Dubai ports and the fact that the Saudis had not been held accountable for the support of Hamas bombers through those charities, this so called “with us or against us” are hollow words from a hollow man.

So he goes after Iraq which he wanted to since day 1, then decides to bring democracy to a people that are a majority shia, then conviently forgets to install it as a republic like our own? Then he refuses to go after Syria, Saudi Arabia and Iran for sending more Jihadists in to fight our troops, we could just have them cut down on the border but we all but LET them in. Then he has our frontline forces stuck in a place un able to move for strategic reasons while the neighboring super hostile countries build nukes that are already in range.

He then says things such as South Korean nukes are unacceptable but when it happens he does nothing about it, that’s called appeasement.

Tell me if you serve a worthless master what does that make you?

The two worst votes I ever made. The man can give a rat’s ass about America or it’s citizens. He’s nothing but an elitist/globalist just like ole’ dad. 6 years and the idiot can’t bring himself to close the friggin’ border. He should be Impeached for dereliction of his duties as President.

A couple of years ago I saw Dubya referenced ny some lefty as "the idiot son of an @sshole." I now realize that the lefty was correct.

"This President never had any intention of defending our borders. I believe it was Tancredo who said Bush doesn’t see the United States as an actual place, he only talks about this idea of “America”. Notice he hardly ever says “United States?”

Exactly. He's a globalist; not a patriot. Now we can see it clearly.

"...needy employers..."

Now that's downright diabolical. As if the RNC isn't funded by those "needy" employers. Sounds like 3rd-world corruption, which is our future if Bush and the RNC have their way.

Have you been attacked in this country? If you want to attack the Saudis be my guest. He has done his best trying to fight the aclu, congress, and now even his own party. What good does it do coming in here and complaining when no body in here has any answers? You want them rounded up like cattle and deported, don’t they do that in other countries and we are so shocked?. You want them to admit they are here under the border fence, show me one that will do that. Do you want to turn them in?, They did that in Nazi Germany with the Jews I think. So since you and I would like to have them out of here what is your solution?Give me one so I can agree. The reps complain their president spends too much money now.How much does it cost the federal government to deport all of them ?Who do you hire to do it? You talk I have got to listen to this one. Face it thanks to Regan, Bush and Clinton and Bush this has gone to the point where it will cost us a fortune. Who pays and where do we get the money from? You could never get America to agree on how to fight Al Queda , how are you going to get her people to agree on how to fight the Saudis ?Who is going to give up the driving to do so. The Saudis control a lot of that oil that you use in your car. Think about what I said before your get angry for my opinion.

I want them to deported because they broke the law, the law is clear they are NOT allowed to be here. Build the wall then a fence have a single division take guard duty (with 2 guard battalions as well) and have it rotated once a month.

The rules of engagement are easy, if you feel threatened shoot to kill, shoot one warning shot at feet or engine block then shoot to maim or kill. Just like Mexico’s Southern border. Enforce laws that state you will be fined if you employ illegal aliens, follow tips and protect the whistle blowers then reward the whistle blowers too.
Call up the militia (instead of calling them vigilantes) and let them help to, it’s their country not the foreign nationals.

The reason why we have to do this is that spineless people refused to see the problem and FIX IT. I was 13 when I first read about this problem and not a single thing was done about it, until the fence started to be built. So quit covering for others incompetence and solve the problem unless you want to be part of it. This is not how you solve the problem, pretending it’s not there then acting like it’s to big to be solved. Suck it up, fix it or be gone.

Guess what we are already in horrible debt because of these parasites, just call it a proactive approach to lowering property taxes nationwide. Then give the excess on the next fiscal year back in tax cuts.

As for myself not being attacked, he has only done the bare minimum to protect ourselves from the middle east. He has yet to solve the problem of the Saudis being allowed to buy parts of Lockheed and dozens of other military industries, he allows them to get away with everything yet he hasn’t done a thing to make us IMMUNE to their tricks.

He could have pushed for nuclear power, electric cars and domestic drilling off our coasts not ANWR immediately and slowly gotten us off of Saudi Kool Aid, but he has failed to do so and now he is SELLING ME OUT.
