Wow! I’ve been reading Peggy for years, and she tends to be a glass-half-full type. Rarely does she go negative. The fact that even Peggy Noonan is disgusted with Bush shows just how low he has sunk.

A couple of months ago, I mentioned in a thread here on FR that the moonbats should quit trying to impeach Bush over Iraq. Instead, I said I would support them if they went for impeachment of Bush because of his refusal to secure our borders and enforce the laws on the books. Well, several Freepers dogpiled me and said I was just as bad as the DUmmies. Perhaps I was just a bit ahead of the curve...

Now here I will start treading close to “Loose Change” type whackiness: Bush has been pushing for “comprehensive immigration reform” for years. Is it possible that, upon leaving office, he has been guaranteed millions upon millions of dollars in speaking fees, board seats, and presidential library donations should he sign an amnesty bill?

OK, one more thought. Maybe Bush is trying to accomplish what has never been done before - a zero approval rating. Now that would be something!

Unfortunately, I think it is going to get even worse. Bush has savaged the conservative coalition that has supported the war in Iraq against the Democrats attempts to enforce timetables and ensure defeat. The question of fighting foreign terrorists and defending foreign borders while not defending our own borders is getting louder.

Come September, the Administration may no longer have the strength to resist Reid and Pelosi.

Bush is reading the tea leaves and sticking a finger in the wind. He and his advisers have abandoned their supporters because we're just not profitable anymore. Apparently, they believe the global warming kooks and amnesty for illegals is the wave of the future.

I hate to break it to them.....but the left isn't going to love them. Ever.

Even though Dems SUPPORT open borders themselves and a disturbing number of Americans don't give a damn?! The very idea (which keeps popping up on FR) is absurd and shows a disconnect from reality. There won't ever be an impeachment over the border problem.

Take this as a thought exercise.

Conservatives start an "Impeach Bush" movement over the borders and the Immigration Bill. Impeachment is always political. It is just easier when there are real crimminal charges, such as perjury or obstruction of justice.

The moonbats in Congress then have to decide which is more important to them, their BDS or the Immigration Bill. They can't have it both ways. Either they support us to kill the Immigration Bill to feed their BDS (a good thing) or they support the Immigration Bill and royally piss off their moonbat base that REALLY, REALLY want Bush impeached (always a good thing).

My bet is that the Democrat congress critters will choose to support the Immigration Bill.
