The lefties in this country didn't squirm with Uncle Joe, so why would they squirm with Chavez?
When he starts gunning down people, or people start "disappearing", it's going to be very hard to ignore, since it's so close to us.
Make no mistake, Chavez will start gunning down people, or making them disappear. He's at the make or break point where, if the pro-democracy types gain any traction, he faces a very real threat to his power. I applaud the pro-Democracy types - most people are not brave enough to do what they are doing, but I know it will get ugly, because he knows that this will reach critical mass if he doesn't act soon.

The DUmmies are being torn asunder over Chavez. There are the ones who are seeing the light versus the blind Chavez loyalists who will NEVER see him for what he really is.
When the bodies start dropping, they'll wake up. Chavez is not going to cover that up - he needs to send a message to the people that if you mess with him, you die. Internationally, nobody will do anything, and he knows it, and it gives him a certain freedom.

“The DUmmies are being torn asunder over Chavez.”
Yup. And the ones turning against Chavez are being excoriated by the Chavez supporters.

About a third of the DUmmies see him as Castro-lite.And thats a good thing to about 95% of DUmmies.

“Venezuela took “a step backwards”, say Latin American newspapers”
“Brazilian Jornal do Brasil asserted that the Venezuelan ruler’s decision on RCTV was “a slap on Latin America’s face” and regretted the fact that “the stable democracies in the region, including Brazil, were unable to prevent another hazardous demonstration of contempt for freedom.”
“La Prensa newspaper from Panama said that President Chávez “is about to become an autocrat” and that the two remaining powers in the Venezuelan state, that is, the Legislature and the Judiciary, bowed silently down to the move against Radio Caracas Television.”

One DU`er said that Panama needs to shut down La Presna because of it`s comments.

Critics say the oath suggests that the military, like the education system, is being “transformed.” .....................DON’T TELL ME, WHATS NEXT, THE TOUCHING OF THE BLOOD FLAG? I seem to have seen all this somewhere in another time before. When will we ever learn?

It would be great to wake up one morning with this problem having been dispatched. I hope Hugo is having sleepless nights.

Right you are! And right now it is like waiting for the other shoe to drop. You know it is coming. The mask will come off of Chavez.
