I don’t want to bother with your Catholic/Anti-Catholic twists and turns (no more than I want to bother with a Randist’s Marxist/Anti-Marxist tangles). Thankfully, I was raised free of the peculiar education you speak of. And I go by what the founders wrote.
Ask Jefferson and Adams what they meant by “we are endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights.” They refer to Sidney and Locke, theologian-philosophers, and the others I’ve referred you to.
Nothing personal. I just don’t want to bother with trading assertions and accusations with you, preferring the aforementioned.

After Bill Clinton Rudy will blend in nicely...this election will be won strictly from the middle...all the far left are torn because they really hate Hillary's vote on the war and Gore is a no show...and the far right are miffed that Rudy is leading the show...it will come down to the middle and in 2008 it will be a HUGE middle thanks to GW not doing his job concerning the borders and the left for being spineless terrorist appeasing worms.
2008 will not be a battle of left versus right...it will be purely the middle.
Most Americans will leave social issues at home when they vote and they will vote for the best person he is dedicated to continue the war on and against terrorists...and EVERY time we hear more about thwarted plans here in the USA...we whittle away at the left and convince more and more people that the middle will be a safe place to vote from, and at this time the middle will strongly support Rudy...the middle will elect a commander in chief not a religous leader...they want a warrior..who lives each day "never forgetting 911"...

Thank you. It’s axiomatic that elections are won in the middle, so no argument there. The issue with a Giuliani bid is whether or not he can survive a skewed primary process in the first place. It is my considered opinion that he probably won’t, so this is probably all a moot point. Unfortunately, there are those convinced of their own righteousness in all things who will continue beat a dead horse because the possibility exists that Giuliani might actually change a few minds, and it is that, more than anything else, that scares the bejesus out of “conservatives”. Heretical thought always threatens them.
A Rudy Giuliani candidacy is a real threat to their quest for a return to the 1950’s and the semi-theocratic state which is probably a pre-requisite for the Rapture or whatever, and so that’s why we have these arguments.The majority of folks arguing against Rudy believe themselves to be taking a principled stand without realizing that they have far less understanding of conservatism and liberalism, and what each supposedly represents, than a dog does of arithmetic. It why they’re always unhappy, always disappointed, and forever seeking a new political messiah who never makes an appearance — the great mass in the middle restrains their worst impulses. That this force works in both directions doesn’t matter to them; only their mentally-constipated worldview matters.
In the last three years, there has been an almost indecent rush wily-nilly across the ranks of the republican party to find an “acceptible” (to the far-right only) candidate that has seen them grasp at every straw to cross their sights. Unfortunately, it seems these rushes all have one source: Ann Coulter, who first put her imprimatur upon Mike Pence, then Duncan Hunter, and now Mitt Romney. I’m waiting for Ann to change her mind again, because I know it’s coming.
And if that’s the way we choose presidential candidates today (a combination of religious and social snobbery, misunderstanding of what we’re SUPPOSED to stand for, and picking leaders on the expedient of Ann Coulter-as-political-weather-vane), well, then we deserve to lose.
