Have you heard the latest idea the administration (via Tony Snow) is pushing? The current non-enforcement is a de facto amnesty through non-enforcement of the laws while the proposed legislation at least has some punishment, therefore those opposed to the bill are the real ones supporting amnesty.

Get the band to play a quick verse of "The World Turned Upside Down" because that is some of the craziest talk I've heard. Shut down illegal crossing of the border for a few years, punish employers who hire illegals and maybe even put in some of the ID requirements and instant legal status checks in the bill. If that works for five years, then the next president might be able to come back and ask "Now that the country is secure, what should we do about the illegals still here?" At that point I would be more willing to listen to plans to let them stay, but not until the government has been doing its job for years.

I have to admit that that is some impressive spin.

I heard Tony Snow pushing that crap on the Neal Boortz show. He was saying that those who are opposed to this “reform” bill are the ones “copping out”.

That’s right, folks. The administration believes if you oppose them on this “reform”, YOU, yes, you are pushing a cop-out. I kid you not.

Tony Snow called Neal Boortz from Air Force One today (on the way to Georgia). Snow went thru the “default amnesty” argument. Boortz replied that when your basement is flooded, you fix the leak before you try to do something with the water already there. Snow replied that it was already flooded. Boortz said, yes I know.

Boortz also asked if he could speak with the Prez, and Snow said the phone would not reach that far. LOL.

I am disappointed that Tony Snow does not resign over this issue. I have always had a lot of respect for him and I can only imagine the pain he has to feel going out every day and defending this bill.
