As long as you used “swum” in the perfect tense, it was fine - as in “has swum,” “had swum,” “have swum” and so forth. It’s not a stand-alone.

I did, we were talking about scuba diving and various places we had all been and I was telling the story about the time I had swum through baby jellyfish and got severely stung. It looked like I had a disease. Benedril Spray became a permanent part of my scuba kit after that day. :-)
