I agree with your sense of frustration. However, Bush has at least paid some attention to border security, not much, but some. Algore and Kerry would not even give the subject a moments thought - at all...and the legislation they would support would most likely make Bush’s position seem more right then moderate. The Dims want vast waves if illegals in this country as a way to grow their voter rolls and increase their power. Bush see’s the immigration issue through the prism of a world economy, open markets, and an European Union-style here in the America’s - Especially with respect to North America and Central America. Every conservative republican should understand that all these illegals will NOT be voting republican....Bush understands that....unfortunately he’s willing to take that risk to, in his obvious view, improve the free market.

The difference in why the Dims support the immigration bill is a universe apart from why Bush does. For the DIM’s it’s all about a power grab, for Bush it’s a wrong headed attempt to keep our economy strong. The Dims don’t really care about what is happening to our nation as long as they can have their power. Bush does care about our country, he’s just taking an incredibly wrong approach on this issue and most other domestic issues with the noteable exception of his tax policies.

I still say they're all in bed together and care nothing for We, The People.

Keep our economy strong? Oh yeah? How strong will it be when the tens of thousands of illegals become legal?

Seeing the reaction to this 'bill' --- what do you think it will be when it becomes 'law'? Think there'll be any animosity and resentment or is everyone just going to shut up and take it? I don't. If we have to depend on what amounts to slave labor in order to 'keep our economy strong' then there is something seriously wrong. And we need someone who wasn't born with the proverbial silver spoon to lead us in the right direction once again.

Stop it. Bush did nothing until We The People created the Mintuteman movement on the border to assist law enforcement to catch the bad guys. You had Bush calling them vigalantes just like far left Geraldo Rivera. After massive American support from We The People for the Minuteman, Bush finally got off his ass and got in the some national guard. The deployment should have been 30,000 men with lots of helicopters. Instead, you got 6,000 and almost no support equipment, a token gesture at best.
