I thought that Elizabeth's comeback was not too organized or powerful but what I think allowed her to win the day was that she got some support from the audience.
Historically every time Rosie would open her mouth, she would get the crowd support that she would then feed upon. This last time however, Elizabeth seemed to finally get the support and IMHO, that is what threw Rosie off her scripted diatribe and she had no idea how to deal with it...........
In all honesty, when it comes down to debating skills, Elizabeth is not in the same league as Rosie......
Elizabeth only started to gain ground when she stated that Rosie is an adult and responsible for her own words and views.
Rosie can’t debate. She’s just got a loud, obnoxious, Long Island honk of a voice that allows her to shout over everyone else. And I can say that because I’m from Long Island.
I had stated earlier that Elisabeth is an intellectual lightweight, but I think you're giving Rosie too much credit for her "debating skills". When someone has to resort to made-up "facts" and figures (such as 655,000 Iraqi civilians dead in Iraq), they clearly have no true debating skills.
If anything, the complaints logged at ABC/Disney may have ended Rosie’s gig early. If you watch the tape, she is playing EH for a dupe. She was most likely canned before they went out there and she was just laying for “Christian” Elizabeth. EH is a lovely, lovely girl. She certainly doesn’t belong in that cesspit. That’s all the View has become, and Barbra Walters is responsible. She’s a senile, money grubbing old hag, but still responsible.:))
