No...what it means is that the lobbying group behind this...whether it be La Raza, the Mexican goverment...whoever...has access to the direct numbers. There are Senators that would never stand for this individually. Unless the Senate now shuts those numbers down, whoever has them can bypass the switchboard, be it friend or foe.

Using the 800 number I got through to Sen. Gordon Smith's (Portland) office on the second ring. From what the staffer told me, they haven't received any calls supporting the Amnesty at that office. She has no way of knowing if the call is routed via the 800 number.

(The lady has beautiful voice, if she hasn't a boyfriend or hubby who treats her like a queen, then I have to apologize for not having more sons.)
