Their sexual commitment, or do you go around commending all long-term friendships? I've had some friends for 35 years or more.
Anyone who makes a relationship last that long deserves some respect for their commitment.

The criteria relationships which are commendable are those that last long?
Are you sure this is a valid criteria?

Anyone who makes a relationship last that long deserves some respect for their commitment. What commitment? Do you mean the sexual commitment? I know few people older that 16 who have NOT had a 16-year commitment to their family members. Congrats for that? Or does sex make the commitment more special? And if it does, what about a long-term sexual relationship between an adult and a child (at least initially)? How about that Mary Kay lady and her middle school student? Do you have respect for that as well?
