“Asians student are not very bright and their parents... well, don’t get me started.” This is the opposite of what has been my experience. The Asians in my classes were always very bright and very hard workers. They didn’t need to cheat. Perhaps the standards for getting into Duke if you are an Asian have been lowered.
Seriously, the fact that the argument is being made doesn't make it true. The cheaters got caught. Now they're making excuses . . . it doesn't get any more complicated.
My comment was a satirical parody of the attorney - not to be taken seriously.
We have incessantly been told how bright and hard-working Asian students are and how they consistently outperform Americans due to their hard work. I have no reason to doubt that is the truth. It just makes the attorney’s approach that much more egregious.
