Partly but it's not that simple. What has happened here in Iowa is a prime example.

There are those who claim many conservatives stayed home this last election. I don't know if that can be proven but that is the claim.

We had Democrats take over both the Iowa House, Senate and governorship.

They increased state spending by more than 10%, removed a ban on human cloning, raised the cigarette tax by $1.00 a pack and were stupid enough to budget on the phony projections which have not materialized, made same-day voting registration legal, voted to give special protections to gays, lesbians, etc, implemented more socialistic programs, preschool for all four year olds and increased the minimum wage. These are just the issues I can think of off the top of my head.

That's not bad enough for you? I know of a local radio host who thinks he's morally superior to everyone else who claims he didn't vote for the Republican for governor because he isn't good enough for him.

I can absolutely guarantee you that if Republicans had just one house or the governorship, this would not have happened.

All of a sudden, even a few RINOs would have made a difference.

Oh, another thing they're working on is gutting Iowa's Right to Work law. Still think sitting it out is worth it? I don't.

"There are those who claim many conservatives stayed home this last election. I don't know if that can be proven but that is the claim."

Statistics indicate it was low "independent" turnout.

"I can absolutely guarantee you that if Republicans had just one house or the governorship, this would not have happened." If they had it all... well, we've seen what that does.

"All of a sudden, even a few RINOs would have made a difference." Maybe. Maybe not. If many Republican Senators weren't "RINOS", the amnesty bill wouldn't have a chance. In the end, it may be DEMOCRATS voting against it that saves us.

"Still think sitting it out is worth it? I don't.

" I didn't "sit out" last November, but I'll be damned before I vote FOR someone like McCain or Guiliani. I won't "sit out" then, either, but I will vote for someone I can stomach.

"Let us not be unmindful that liberty is power, that the nation blessed with the largest portion of liberty must in proportion to its numbers be the most powerful nation upon earth. Our Constitution professedly rests upon the good sense and attachment of the people. This basis, weak as it may appear, has not yet been found to fail. Always vote for a principle, though you vote alone, and you may cherish the sweet reflection that your vote is never lost. America, in the assembly of nations, has uniformly spoken among them the language of equal liberty, equal justice, and equal rights." -John Q. Adams.
